Kindly ignore the greensleeves. Continuing flipping the bird to the commercial known as Christmas, I’m getting a head start on making Annual Gift-Giving Day gifts. Above are cashmere socks for my Dad, from a pattern in ‘Sock Styles by Beehive’, circa 1950. Classy footwear for a classy guy.

Two great tastes that don’t taste great together.
After visiting 3rd Ward’s Not So Silent Auction, I’m now the proud owner of three photographs, one a portrait of a young man in KISS makeup from Timothy Archibald; two part of a series of four from Nick Chatfield-Taylor. He woke his friends at 4AM, stuck them in a room where he’d set up colored cloth or sheets in the background, and took their photo with a particularly bright flash. The resulting expressions were great, and I’d wanted all 4 in the series. Unfortunately I was outbid on two of the photos at the last minute by some lady, and my urge to exact bidding vengeance was checked by my cheapness. The at-all-costs, knee-jerk need to take back what I regarded, however temporarily, as mine is an emotion strong and startling enough to have kept me away from Ebay the last few months.
I’ve also begun playing around with various frame-grabbing software and have created some very silly stop-motion pieces, nothing particular worth posting yet. Yep.
